Why People Choose You — And Why Your Wellness Offer Still Needs To Make Sense

How emotional connection and logical clarity strengthen how you communicate your wellness or retreat offer.

I would die on this hill:

When people decide to work with you, they do it because they feel like they know you — especially in a wellness business, where trust and personal connection matter.

There is something about your perspective, your story, or the way you see the world that resonates with them deeply. They connect with you on a human level.

People often choose an offer and a brand mostly because of the person behind it.

But here is the part we can’t ignore:

Choosing you still needs to make logical sense.

Your potential client may feel drawn to work with you. They may enjoy your content, relate to your story, or agree with your values. But they still need to understand what you offer, who it is for and why it is the right next step for them.

The strongest offers bring both sides together: emotional connection and logical clarity.

The Logical Side of Your Offer Communication

Part of my process as I work with my clients, is to look at the rational structure behind an offer and its message.

I look at what connects, what does not, and where the gaps are.

There are two archetypes I often use to explore this side of the work:

The Scientist: understanding your niche

The Scientist is about specificity and precision.

How deeply do you understand the person you are talking to?

What are they struggling with?

What do they want?

What language do they use to describe their situation?

Without this level of precision, your offer might sound beautiful but still feel generic. It may be relevant to many people in theory, but not specific enough for anyone to immediately recognise themselves in it.

Your potential client needs to be able to look at your offer and think:

“This person understands me.”

That recognition is part of what makes an offer feel relevant.

The Leader: building trust through authority

The Leader is about authority.

Why should this person trust you to guide them?

Your authority can come from your experience, your perspective, what you have learned, the results you have helped create, and the way you understand the reality of the work you do.

This is the part of your communication that helps someone feel:

“I am in safe hands here.”

When I look at the logical side of an offer, I am asking two questions:

– Do I feel recognised and understood?

– Do I trust this person to take me where I want to go?

These questions help determine whether the offer makes sense in a practical and credible way.

The Emotional Side of Your Offer Communication

The logical side is essential, but it is only one half of the picture.

There is another part of your communication that can be just as important (if no more!): the emotional, intuitive, and even visceral part.

This is where we explore the story and values behind your work.

The Artist: giving the offer meaning

The Artist is your story.

Why does this offer exist?

What have you experienced, witnessed or learned that gives this work meaning?

Your story helps people connect with the human being behind the offer, rather than seeing only the service you are selling.

It does not mean sharing every detail of your life. It means understanding which parts of your experience are relevant to the work you do and helping people understand why you created this offer.

The Sage: showing what you stand for

The Sage is your values.

What do you believe about the work you do?

What do you stand for — and what do you refuse to stand for?

People are not only evaluating what you offer. They are also sensing whether the way you see the world resonates with the way they see it.

When I look at the emotional and intuitive side of a message, I am asking:

– Do I feel emotionally connected to this person?

– Do I resonate with what this person stands for?

Sometimes someone reads your sales page, watches your content or hears you speak and thinks:

“This person gets it.”

Or:

“This feels right.”

That response is not always completely rational. But it is still part of the buying decision.

(This is exactly the kind of work I do with my one-to-one clients inside The Chosen Offer Method: helping them uncover and communicate what makes their offer the clear choice for the right people).

When the Four Parts Work Together

Your niche helps people feel recognised.

Your authority helps them trust you.

Your story helps them connect with you.

Your values help them understand what you stand for.

When these four parts work together, your offer becomes much more than information. It starts carrying more of you — while still making clear, practical sense to the person considering it.

That is the balance many wellness and retreat brands and offers are missing:

They may have a beautiful story, but no clear audience.

They may have strong expertise, but no emotional connection.

They may be deeply meaningful, but difficult to understand.

The sweet spot is not to choose between logic and emotion. It is to build an offer where both support the decision.

How to Uncover What Makes Your Offer Distinctly Yours

The Offer Identity Reset is a free guide designed to help you look at your offer beyond the logistics and start identifying the pieces that can make it feel distinctly yours.

It helps you explore the different parts of your expertise, story, authority, and perspective that can give your offer a stronger identity — instead of making it sound like another version of something people have already seen. This matters whether you run a wellness business, a retreat business or another values-led service.
